Music-Theatre Group presents The Rose Project, conceived and directed by Sonoko Kawahara, with music by Diedre Murray and text by Susan Wheeler and Sonoko Kawahara. A provocative exploration of the voices of Radio Tokyo in WWII Japan, this collaboration combines elements of both Western and Japanese classical, popular and folk cultures.

Continuing their effort to break down the barriers between the book musical and the opera, Music-Theatre Group (MTG) identifies and shepherds collaborative, interdisciplinary works of music and theatre from commission, through development, and into full-scale productions. MTG celebrates over 35 years of producing experience as they continue to introduce accomplished artists to music-theatre and opera, and guide them in creating new work that gives equal voice to both music and theatre and thus influences the field with new forms and ideas.
