Music-Theatre Group presents Golden Motors, featuring a book and lyrics by Wendy S. Walters and music by Derek Bermel. The show uses Motown sound, mixing Rhythm and Blues with classical composition, to portray the lives of a Detroit family driven to extremes during the industrial decline and economic and social hardship of the 1980s.

Continuing their effort to break down the barriers between the book musical and the opera, Music-Theatre Group (MTG) identifies and shepherds collaborative, interdisciplinary works of music and theatre from commission, through development, and into full-scale productions. MTG celebrates over 35 years of producing experience as they continue to introduce accomplished artists to music-theatre and opera, and guide them in creating new work that gives equal voice to both music and theatre and thus influences the field with new forms and ideas.
