Hildegard (vision) follows the story of Hildegard, a medieval nun, composer, and philosopher, who experienced divine visions. The structure piece mirrors the scientific phases of the body during a migraine attack, represented through an integrated mix of piercing sound, motion and surreal imagery, to examine the ways in which context combined with physiological processes shape how we perceive and affect change within the world around us.
Victor Morales takes his audiences for the ultimate digital performance ride, where particle robots, computer vision, digital puppets, and mapped dynamic projections are used to answer universal questions about purpose in art and life. Morales' experience as a puppeteer and theatre performer adds a humorous and humanizing touch to his digital creations. The artist interacts with his digital environments, as they exist in the way they would with traditional puppets and sets. Hi-tech medium notwithstanding, storytelling is at the core of the project.
John Jesurun's cross-media storytelling returns as Shadowland Live, a continuation of his webserial Shadowland. His exploded narrative form is a continuously revised "plot" created and shot in front of an audience. A combination of the memorized, improvised, playback, music, media and the internet. Two new episodes take on the changing perception of reality manipulated by ubiquitous mediation and a host of virtuosic veteran performers and new talents.
