The 2003 OBIE AWARD-WINNING Soho Think Tank presents a 1950's guide to post 9/11 motherhood in Lenora Champagne's Mother's Little Helper.

This new comedy is by one of downtown New York's most accomplished and respected performance artists. While religious fundamentalists (here and abroad) assail reproductive rights and sex education, and claim exclusive authority on all matters of faith, a former Cajun-American Princess draws on her Louisiana roots (and a 1950's guide to the facts of life) to help raise her pre-adolescent daughter. In a world fraught with post- 9/11 anxiety, Champagne places herself and her daughter in a long line of strong willed, tenacious Cajun women, restlessly seeking a state of grace.
