WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Nuyorican Poets Cafe presents a one-night-only performance of Monk. Based on the extraordinary jazz musician Thelonius Monk, the play is the creation of award winning playwright Laurence Holder and performed by actor/director Rome Neal. The story traces Monk's personal and professional life from the 1940s through the 70s and elucidates why he's considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century.
