WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Playwright and actor Matthew Cowles presents Mexican Standoff at Fat Squaw Springs, directed by Larry Hunt. The play is a comedy about Chickie Fennelli and Loodie Duchense, an elderly pair of star-crossed lovers at a retirement home. This odd couple become passionately involved after making love one night at the Merry-Vale Senior Residence, breaking a bed and Loodie's arm in the process. Loodie's politically ambitious daughter, outraged when she learns of her mother's romantic fixation, bands together with Chickie's son to sabotage their parents' budding romance. Chickie and Loodie devise a unique plan to protect their love from the younger generations' determination to force them apart. They are helped in their plight by an alternately tyrannical and well meaning nun and a Eucharistic minister with a large supply of Viagra.
