WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Tony Speciale's one-man play, Metamorphosis: The Myth of Rimbaud, pulls the audience into the chaotic life of the 18-year old French, visionary rebel-poet Arthur Rimbaud. He struggles with his past and future, ultimately making the decision to give up writing forever. The play takes place immediately after a violent and emotional separation from his lover, the French poet, Paul Verlaine. The author describes the piece as "a quest for identity, derangement of the senses, and the absence of love." The production, part of the New York International Fringe Festival, is directed by Sullivan Canaday White.
