WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Producer's Club Theater will present Howard Zinn's new play, MARX IN SOHO. This one-man show will be performed by Brian Jones, who has performed the piece in Providence, San Francisco, Berkeley, Chicago, Amherst and Washington DC. The premise of Zinn's witty exploration of Marx's life is that Marx has agitated with the authorities of the afterlife for a chance to clear his name. Through a bureaucratic error, he is sent to Soho in New York, rather than his old stomping ground in London. Once there, the audience witnesses a series of exchanges between Marx and those around him including: his wife Jenny, his daughters and his rival Bakunin.
