WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
La MaMa E.T.C. presents a reading of Marian Anderson: The Lady from Philadelphia, written jointly by three prominent Black playwrights, Walter Jones, Edgar White, and Norma Jean Darden. The play was written over a seven-year period by the trio using research from Ms. Anderson's biography My Lord, What a Morning and materials in the Van Pelt Library at University of Pennsylvania and NYC's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.
