Originally constructed through improvisation and an extreme paucity of research on the subject of The Brat, Man or McEnroe takes a look at competition, lies and insecurity through the eyes of two doppelganger performers vying to play the part of John McEnroe. As the Wimbledon finals approach, and John's racquet remains stubbornly unable to keep from flying through the air, a rift opens between the two performers. One is eager to revel in the whiney nature of the legend, digging himself deeper in lawn-tennis holes, while the other sees a tender side in the man, and wants to share an apology with the audience. The meta-battle begins, and by the 5th set only one McEnroe will remain.
