WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The Willful Company (2002 OOBR Award Winner for Hamlet), presents the tragedy of Macbeth and dares you to spend the night with the Bard's "Butcher and his fiend-like Queen". Delve into Shakespeare's classic tale of the corrupting influence of power and re-imagine Scotland as a decaying insane asylum. King Duncan is head administrator of a paranoid and mad institution and its most exemplary patients, Macbeth and Banquo, are praised for visiting Golgotha-like horror on their enemies. The Weird Sisters - perceptive, prophetic, power players - rip apart this fragile society with a few well-chosen words. Macbeth, a man whose desire and ambition exceeds his moral grasp (and spurred on by his ever-grasping wife), is the instrument of their fury. Directed by Sherry Saab and produced by Adriana Iwashko with Maureen O'Malley and Tania Hryckowian. Lighting by Brian Belluomini. Sets by Maha Saab. Costumes by Maha Saab and Diana Baez with Elena Fuentes. Make-up by Esther Mendoza. Stage managed by Diana Baez and fight choreographed by Josh Willis. Featuring Farah Bala, Sinem Balkir, Ben Beckley, Daryl Brown, Robert Dioguardi, Russell Hankins, Alison Kerrington, Michael Menger, Wole Parks, Jenni Peterson, Melissa Silver and Paul Swinnerton. Appropriate for audiences 13 and up. For group sales, contact Adriana Iwashko at 917-664-1409.
