No Kneecap Productions presents Love, Punky as part of the Seventh Annual Midtown International Theater Festival. The play is written by Robin Hopkins and directed by Billy Mitchell.

Jess Thompson, a would-be author, has one slogan she lives by: "always avoid the family." But her life gets flipped upside down when she learns that her alcoholic mother is back in the hospital and this time, she may not make it out. Inundated by nagging calls from her sister that she come home -- Jess must decide if she can put aside her anger in order to go home and say goodbye to her mom. What results is a darkly comic, universal tale of a mother and daughter struggling with family, forgiveness and love. L
