WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Fresh off their successful Lady Windermere's Fan, WOMAN SEEKING... goes from upper-class manners to low-class squabbles with Michel Tremblay's Les Belles Soeurs. This rarely performed modern comedy classic is set in the early 60s. The main character, a working-class housewife, has won a million trading stamps in a contest. Family, friends, and neighbors come together for a book-stamping marathon -- bitter jealousies, parochial frustrations and personal emergencies make for a raucously hysterical and poignant gathering. Deb Guston directs.
