Leave Yourself at The Door, Please! is a dance-theater piece for five women with original music by Mio Morales, interwoven with Brazilian music and lighting design by Severn Clay. In this piece, Ms. Nejman creates a bizarre world inhabited by five red-haired kinetic cyclones. Tearing through the space, the banshees discover the boundaries of their world and then, by enacting strange rituals of community and survival, they attempt to transcend those boundaries. Like most of Ms. Nejman's work, the piece explores women as outsiders. She creates an energized dream world where unique characters clash with invisible forces; where past and present collide, and a new future emerges.
