Acclaimed playwright and director Michael John Garces is a resident playwright at New Dramatists as well as the recipient of the Alan Schnieder Directing Award and the Princess Grace Fellowship. Garces' writing lives in the breath between the stated and the unstated, the gap between thoughts and words. In this world premiere of his latest one-act play Last Call, three friends meet up at a bar in a conversation that plunges from hilariously awkward to life-ruining. The production is being staged as a Prospect Theater directing commission for Dominic D'Andrea, an Edward Albee Foundation Fellow, EST resident director, and recent alumnus of the Lincoln Center Directors' Lab.
