WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Celebrating the 101st birthday of one of the great founders of butoh, Kazuo Ohno, this series features the legendary pioneers of the butoh movement, including Ohno's son, Yoshito Ohno; MacArthur "Genius" grantees Eiko & Koma; a world premiere performance by Akira Kasai and U.S.-based dancers; and Akaji Maro and his company Kochuten. These masters of butoh perform back-to-back with young, emerging butoh practitioners based in the U.S.
