WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Alan Watson, NYC playwright turned Hollywood golden boy, returns to Looking Glass Theatre to present a reading of his first new play in eight years. But this isn't the play anyone expected. This is a new script. About them.
Just a Reading is a play about the reading of a play - a play Alan has written to confess his love to his old friend and creative partner May and expose her boyfriend's affair. The guilty lovers seek escape...but the door is locked. And only Alan has the key. Will they read the parts he's written? Will he get the happy ending he's waited so long to hear?
NOTE: NO LATE SEATING PERMITTED.

I REALLY LIKED THIS
Quirky and funny and sometimes intense. Very comical with some really dramatic highlights, and truly wonderful performances all around. May and Allen are easily noted as the "stars" by virtue of the their amount of lines and across the board the deliveries are all rapid-fire but given the whole cast is locked onstage throughout with minor exceptions they all have about the same "face time". And as ensemble shows go this is a really good ensemble with great chemistry and pretty amazing adept timing. Well written, beautifully presented here. Dont miss. Also Innovative Theater Award nominated which I think is a great way to keep NON-BROADWAY read NON BANK BUSTING theater top of mind and noted for its wonderful place in the theater scene.
