WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Before he was The Gay Pimp he was... a nanny! Jonny comes out with all the sordid details in this hysterical new one-man show. The show also touches on Jonny's real life experiences in New York's underground gay club scene and his behind-the-scenes take on his experiences filming The Ricki Lake Show and numerous specials for VH1 and Comedy Central.
McGovern has performed at venues including Westbeth, Fez, PS 122 and Surf Reality with shows including Lookin' Cute /Feelin' Cute, The Wrong Fag to Fuck With, Alter Egos (nominated by The Kennedy Center's American College Theater Festival for Best Short Play), and Dirty Stuff (nominated for Best Gay Themed play By HX and for a GLAAD media award as well as taking honors at The Leonardo Divinci Awards for Best Male Solo Performance). Jonny's DIRTYSTUFF line of locker room inspired t-shirts is a best seller at Patricia Field's.

"I'm feeling especially faggoty tonight," announces Jonny McGovern in his new solo show I Likes to Have Funz. Clad in a bright pink T-shirt and blue jeans, McGovern possesses a manic energy and a raunchy sense of humor. Some of the comedian's funniest lines are too obscene to repeat in a review, but they certainly score points with a live audience.
I Likes to Have Funz is more of a glorified stand-up routine than a cohesive solo play, as the writer-performer tells four different tales about his life in New York City.
