Johnny Got His Gun, a one- man show, portrays the tragic truth behind a young man's rush to defend his country. It is a play that gains pertinence, once again, in light of our current political climate. Both young and old confront the delicate balance between patriotism and individual lives.
To make this story accessible to as many New Yorkers as possible, S.E.E. Theater's production will be performed in both Spanish and English, on alternating evenings. In the English version, Mark Lindberg, a recent graduate of New York University, portrays Joe Bonham, the protagonist of the story, reviving the role he performed this past summer at the Cape Cod Repertory Theatre. Rebecca Alvin said of Mark, in the Cape Cod Times, "Lindberg is astonishing."
