WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
These two one-act plays, Jaz and Big Shoot by French speaking Ivory Coast writer Koffi Kwahulé are translated by Chantal Bilodeau in two Lark residencies and developed in partnership with the Mark Taper Forum and the Playwrights' Center in Minneapolis. Michael Johnson-Chase directs.
Jaz tells the story of a woman contemplates killing her rapist in order to reclaim inner peace, in a city where chaos threatens to take over.
In a glass cage, surrounded by people who came from the end of the world to witness this event, an "artist" and his victim prepare for the final confrontation in Big Shoot.
These plays contain adult themes.
