In Between Spaces, a new multimedia dance work from Holland, combines multi-media with innovative dance forms to create a performance that breaks through existing definitions. Created by choreographer and dancer Vincent Verburg together with dancer Cherif Zaouali, video artist Ariel Zachor and composer/multi-media expert Eric Redlinger, the piece is an experiment in dance without sight: the dancers travel through - and with - their bodies in search of contact with each other and with the composer.
Vincent Verburg resided in New York shortly before and after the attack on the Twin Towers. This show reflects the dismay, the primal emotions, the energy, the technology and the flexibility that New York City held - and still holds - through the metaphors of contact and improvisation.
