WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
I'll Never See the Stars Again: An Evening of Love & Betrayal combines modern staging with early music madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi, ARTEK's musical specialty. The evening includes the cycle "Lamento d'Arianna" from Monteverdi's lost opera Arianna of 1608, based on Arianna's lament after her betrayal by Theseus in the classical Greek legend. Staging for the show suggests a group of post-war Italian refugees who pause for a series of vignettes on life and love.
