WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Federico Garcia Lorca's tragedy follows a tyrannical mother who attempts to dominate her five unmarried daughters, all of whom harbor a secret passion for one man. The play foreshadows Spain's three year civil war during which liberal Republicans were silenced by the rightwing fascist force. Performed in Spanish with simultaneous English translation. -kr
