It's Labor Day at Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh, 1965. Local balladeer Tony White is about to taste the big-time when he opens for Perry Como. The night holds all the promise of an Italian American dream-come-true, except that the shadow of the escalating Vietnam war threatens to fall on Tony's only son, who is 1A.
Father and son quickly find that they have very different notions about duty, about the nature of personal bravery, and about a war that threatens to draw the country into an inextricable morass and tear the nation, and this family, apart.
