WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Marking the 400th anniversary of the world's most produced play, Shakespeare's Hamlet is dismantled and recast for the postmodern epoch in Heiner Muller's Hamletmachine. The play is a lamentation of, and unrelenting journey through, the violence and devastation of the 20th century--the bloodiest in human history. The show features Kurt Weill-inspired music and original lyrics by director Fred Newman.
