WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Gethsemane Park addresses the issues of poverty, homelessness, faith, and miracles and how they apply to the selfish and bottomline United States' of the cruel 1990s. In this gospel opera, Beelzebub stalks Mary Magdelane and the denizens of the title park, located in the inner city, sowing mischief and waiting to capture Jesus who never appears in the park, though his spirit is manifest.
