WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
GAYFEST NYC, the country's premier producer of new LGBT-themed plays presents its fourth annual festival, a five-week event filled with new theatre works spotlighting LGBT issues. This year, the Festival will include four fully-staged Actors' Equity Association productions featuring professional actors, talk-backs with the authors of the Festival plays, appearances by celebrated members of the LGBT community, plus special events.
All proceeds from GAYFEST NYC benefit the Harvey Milk High School.

A comedy on marriage equality in the style of William Shakespeare. Romeo goes to the ball where he is soon to meet the beautiful young Juliet, but bumps into the dashing Prince Hamlet instead. Naturally, the two fall hopelessly in love. While Hamlet strives to juggle the pressures of his new-found love, his arch-conservative family, and his quest for revenge, he must also keep his secrets from the woman he is sworn to marry: Hell hath no fury like a Juliet scorned.

Veteran gay character actor and old movie lover Steve Hayes brings his hugely successful YouTube show to the stage in a special live edition for GAYFEST NYC. Along with his friend and co-host John "Johnny" Bixler, Steve offers up tantalizing "tidbits" concerning the classic films he knows and loves. The plots, the stars, the studios, the directors, the technical problems, the controversies, the rumors, the scandals and the inevitable truths, all come under his scrutiny in 90 minutes of laughter and revealing insights as only Steve Hayes can offer; sometimes personal, sometimes profound, and always full of humor.
