Four out of five stars from Time Out New York: ~ "Nuanced acting and poignant remembrances that might do Sam Shepard proud." ~ "There's a lot going on under the hood in Garage and it's surprises have real horsepower!" New York Theatre Review: ~ "Terrifying!! Heartbreaking, shocking!" nytheatre.com: ~ "GARAGE has got some teeth..." ~ "This play just plain works." Garage is the story of David Lawson, who has returned to small-town Arkansas with his wife Susan for the funeral of his father, Emmett, from whom he had consciously distanced himself over the years. As David is confronted with his pent-up past, he and Susan must also contend with Brandon, Emmett's foul-mouthed protege and David's childhood rival, who might very well offer a key to David's haunted sense of self-worth and reveal the often amusing but ultimately tragic human experience of Garage.
