WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

From clothing ads to television shows, we live in a world where consumer marketing runs by the dictum: Sex Sells! But in a society where explicit sex and pornography have veered ever closer to the mainstream, do we have a more unrealistic view of sex than ever before?

Working Man's Clothes Productions, in association with The Thursday Problem, gives birth to a new breed in small play festivals with fuckplays. Featuring 8 sexually charged ten-minute plays, the festival offers a sincere examination of our most basic carnal desires through a cross-spectrum of approaches: humor, metaphor, myth, fantasy, fetishism, violence, language, intimacy and love.

The fuckplays are: Wood; Marriage Play; Sharpen My Dick; 1.1 - 1.7; Getting Lost in the Candy Room; The Impotence of Being Ernest; Saddest Thing in the History of the World; and Arms and the Octopus.

The playwrights are: Kyle Jarrow (Obie Award-winner, A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant), Bekah Brunstetter (NYIT Award-winner, To Nineveh: A Modern Miracle Play), Eric Sanders (Dread Awakening), William Charles Meny, Joshua Hill, Justin Cooper (Flickgrifter's Union), Greg Romero, and Casy Wimpee (Bloody Elephants).

In addition to its run at the Ohio Theater, fuckplays performs as part of the Galapagos Evolve Series, April 6 - 27. For more information, click here.
