For Artists Only began in 2006 with a series of chance exercises that created a blueprint for its characters. Nellie Tinder's staging creates a tightly choreographed, hyper-stylized world that skillfully evokes the frustration of young women who desire to make their mark on their world but don't know quite how to go about it. It's an examination of the decision to become an artist, and what it means to turn the creative impulse into a personal manifesto while at the same time trying to be nice to the people around you.
