Fly-by-Night Dance Theater's 10th Anniversary Performances
Fly By Night is Amazing
by chapuk on Sunday, Sep 6th, 2009 at 10:30 pmThis evenings performance by Fly By Night was truly extraordinary. I found myself in a magical world suspended in time and space through the most exquisite embodiment of movement...I have never seen dance like this before. I left the theater wanting to come back and and experience the thrill of this performance again!

Beyond Words!
by wrooth on Sunday, Sep 6th, 2009 at 9:41 pmA thrilling and amazing experience! The vibrancy, fluidity, eloquence of the dancers and the dance: words arent capable of capturing the excitement, magic, and humanity of this performance.
Both other-worldly, and grounded in the moment. Not one off-note in the whole evening. If you can, GO!
A revelation!
by underworldprod on Sunday, Sep 6th, 2009 at 8:14 pmFly-by-night is a revelation! Julie Ludwick is a mother of invention and her work expands the vocabulary of dance. Using the trapeze as a kind of "male partner-less lift" her women dancers are sent flying through the air wild with exuberance and plunging to the depths. Lifes dramas and struggles and moments of flow are reflected in microcosm, her dancers faces alight with emotion. Outstanding piece was "Streams" in which the 3 dancers interacted with impeccable timing, clothed like jewel-colored caryatids and moving in sea-shell spirals and across the floor and through space. Also a stand-out was Julies solo "Summer" which showed off her seasoned artistry and bluesy phrasing.
RE:Fly--By-Night - what a show
by OV6738202 on Sunday, Sep 6th, 2009 at 8:10 pm I recommend the Fly-By-Night Dance Theater performance this Monday Labor Day. There are phenomenal aerial performances in the air as well as the ground. Dances were as if moving upon ice, caught in a whirlwind flipping and flopping while maintaining a trapeze. Women in blue representing water, the brilliant colors of joy swinging from swing to swing, and other amazing dances.
The show was too good to put into words, you got to see it. And it?s not only the dancing but also the music. It?s rhythms moved me and will move you to other continents. Come and I?m sure you?ll find yourself enjoying dance so rarely seen with an excellent group of musicians.
