WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Beautiful Evening Productions in association with Love Creek Productions present the worldwide premiere of a new play, Fiddlin' N' Burnin' by Paul Buzinski. The play was a 2002 finalist in the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Play Festival. Merry Beamer directs. Fiddlin' N' Burnin' follows bad tempered man child Billy as he is released from prison, determined to parlay the training he received into a career as a pastry chef and start his own business. Eagerly awaiting Billy's return is his sweetheart, Baby, well-intentioned but up to her ears in debt. Her attempts to cover up her debt before Billy returns, however, are compromised as Congress has just passed the Banking Resolution 1441 which makes it legal for credit companies to exterminate delinquent payers. Some unpleasant visits from Vista Man, a rejected bid for a business license, and a batch of burned pancakes later finds Billy on his way to purchase an assault weapon, luckily still legal because of new NRA drafted legislation. The fiery and inadvertent conclusion is covered by the local news team as well as protesters from left, right, and center. Buzinski combines satire with a sprinkling of melodrama to create a fast-paced comedy that is right in step with our country's politically charged atmosphere.
