The pomposity of opera meets the majesty of rock... and vice versa as East Village Opera Company presents a C.D. Release Party for "la Donna," featuring Tyley Ross & Peter Kiesewalter.

East Village Opera Company - an 11 piece group featuring Tyley Ross (best known from the Who's Tommy and Broadway's "Chris" in Miss Saigon) and Peter Kiesewalter (Arranger/Music director of the Downtown Messiah & Jane Siberry)

Along with singer Tyley Ross and multi-instrumentalist Peter Kiesewalter, the album features over 20 musicians including guitarist Vernon Reid (Living Colour), banjo master Tony Trishka, Blue Man Group music director Byron Estep, and a string ensemble from the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada.

"la Donna" (Canal Records 301) - debut release featuring Italian opera arias and Neapolitan folk songs in unorthodox musical settings - from unabashed 70's arena rock to sultry bossa nova to four-on-the-floor disco to celtic and bluegrass-tinged ambient, sometimes all in the same song.
