Alternative Theatre Machine [ATM] presents DEEP STORIES: From the Notebooks of Richard Foreman, a seventy-minute theatrical meditation on the creative process - specifically writing. The focus of the piece is Piia (played by Finnish actress and playwright Piia Mustamäki), a writer suffering from writers block, who is having difficulty separating fact from fiction, the real from the unreal, and the text from the performance. Helping her sort out the proceedings are her psychiatrist, a glamorous woman, a man in a hat and a mysterious other woman. Using video, music, dance and puppetry, DEEP STORIES is a surreal trip into the creative mind. John Issendorf adapts and directs this text by avant-garde legend Richard Foreman.
