THAW's Freedom Follies celebrates one year of theater, community and information with Declarations of Independence: Artists Statements. Poets Andrea Liu, Suneela Mubayi, Immigrants Theater Projects' Marcy Arlin, singer-songwriters Jamie Smith, Karl Greenberg, Dave Hall and Melissa Alexander, the irrepressible DADAnewyork, The Living Theater's Steve Ben Israel, theater artist Frank Robbins, performer Laura Schleifer are scheduled to join the hundreds of diverse artists and concerned citizens the world over who have joined their voices in powerful dissent since the Follies began in 2003. Performance from THAW Member Theater from D.C., Alderbaran and specially commissioned Artists Statements penned by Burnt Sugar's saxophonist Matana, New Dramatists playwright Caridad Svich and V-Day's Eve Ensler round out the festivities.
