WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Decadancetheatre presents Behind the Beat. Six dancers, two DJs and a poet take the stage in this narrative dance piece that uses the raw movement style and bass-heavy music of contemporary club culture to explore themes of escapism, performance and lost identity. Behind the Beat tells the story of a girl who loses her ID in a fantastical urban disco. As she falls deeper and deeper into the ecstasy of the night, she realizes the only way out is to find her movement. Jennifer Weber directs and choreographs.
