WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
In CRY, TROJANS! (Troilus & Cressida) the Wooster Group takes a decidedly American approach to Shakespeare's enigmatic play set during the siege of Troy. Born out of a 2012 collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company, this new piece, directed by Elizabeth LeCompte, concentrates on the Trojan side of Shakespeare's story. The production draws on various contradictory images of the American "Indian" to depict a besieged people struggling to assert its dignity as doom closes in.
