WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
A Top Five smash hit at the 2005 Minnesota Fringe Festival, David Mann's Corleone: The Shakespearean Godfather makes its New York debut as part of the 10th annual New York International Fringe Festival. Featuring a classically-trained New York cast and performed in verse, this is a comic/tragic parody of the classic mob tale. What if Shakespeare had written The Godfather? Will Prince Michael assume the throne of Don Vito Corleone? Performed in iambic pentameter, Corleone: The Shakespearean Godfather parodies the classic mob tale. With swordfights, conspirators, and Fredo the fool, it's a poetic bloodbath of Shakespearean proportions. Schedule Sunday, August 13 @ 12 noon Tuesday, August 15 @ 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 20 @ 5:15 p.m. Thursday, August 24 @ 10:00 p.m. Friday, August 25 @ 10:00 p.m. "David Mann's crackling wordplay transforms a theatrical in-joke into a feat of language anyone could admire." - City Pages, Minneapolis
