HERE Arts Center presents the world premiere of FREEFALL's Clever Hans, a dance-theater production featuring choreography by Lynn Brown and Lynn Marie Ruse, with music by David Soldie.

Clever Hans is based on the Grimm's fairytale about a simpleton who never applies common sense to his actions, acquires knowledge or takes responsibility for his disastrous mistakes. In his interactions with his mother and his bride, he causes havoc. Throughout the story, he accepts gifts from his bride Gretel, only to lose, destroy or kill them, and when he dutifully promises his mother that he'll "do better next time," he misapplies her advice again and again.
