The Kitchen Center presents Class, a collaboration piece created by Robbie McCauley, Laurie Carlos and Jessica Hagedorn. From back in the day, across the oceans, into this land, and down the street, the three artists find ways of coming together no matter what. In class, the three survivors of culture wars use video and computers to exchange dialogue, gossips and poetry confronting issues of race, class and multiculturalism. From New York City's Lower East Side to the Philippines to the Deep South, this production unleashes the insidious workings of censorship while weaving the blues, motherhood and watermelon with intimate reflections of global "blah blah".
