Gustave and Nhar from Harrington & Kauffman's Nharcolepsy and Motel California return in Cabaret Terrarium!
In this epic comedy of amnesia and redemption, watch Belgian cabaret singer Gustave and his mostly silent associate Nhar travel the world in search of clues about Gustave's family and his own shadowy past.
The tale of this quest and its dramatic conclusion is told in narrative, musical
numbers and re-enactment by Gustave and by Nhar, who complements Gustave's deadpan storytelling with his subtle mime routines and musical accompaniment.
It's Jason Bourne meets Samuel Beckett meets Serge Gainsbourg, except Gustave and Nhar take themselves far more seriously than any of those guys, which is the key to Harrington & Kauffman's comedy.
"The actors have created two totally inexplicable characters who could probably stand on stage brushing their hair for 20 minutes and make you laugh." -- Anna Ditkoff, Baltimore CityPaper
"Never stops entertaining yet manages to be profoundly and soberingly enlightening at the same time (i.e., addressing those HUGE issues of life and death)." -- Gilbert A. Bouchard, See Magazine, Edmonton
"I am excited and a little afraid to see what these two will do next." -- Andy Buck, Back Stage, New York
