The Wooster Group presents a limited run of BRACE UP! (2003), based on Paul Schmidt's translation of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters. The production is a new showing of a piece from The Wooster Group's repertory that re-imagines Chekhov's Three Sisters in the Group's organic and multivalent style. BRACE UP! toured Europe and the U.S. in the early 90's and was last seen in New York in 1994. This production reunites many of the original company; Beatrice Roth will reprise her role as Irina, Anna Köhler will reprise her role as Natasha, and Peyton Smith will reprise her role as Olga.
The performance is directed by Elizabeth LeCompte and features Kate Valk and Willem Dafoe. Additional artists working on the project include Geoff Abbas, Dominique Bousquet, John Collins, Jim Clayburgh, J. Reid Farrington, Roy Faudree, Iver Findaly, Ari Fliakos, Clay Hapaz, J.J. Johnson, Chris Kondek, Paul Lazar, Gabe Maxson, Sheena See, Dave Shelly, Scott Shepherd, Jennifer Tipton, Ruud van den Akker, Tara Webb, and Gary Wilmes.
