Awake is a play in one space, two apartments, three minds and the middle of the night. Caught in their individual lives, three nocturnal New Yorkers unexpectedly find themselves faced with the reality of their disjointed and isolated existence. Time and space bend as insomnia and narcolepsy meet the thousand nightly struggles of modern life in New York. The trio, pushed and pulled by forces they claim to understand, is inextricably drawn together by a need to connect, to live their lives well and just get out of their one-room tenements. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes cruel and often absurdly funny, Awake examines life and love in our city. Jamie Boylan directs. Presented by Living Image Arts.
