WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Architecting is an exhilarating saga that weaves through past and future to create a requiem for modern America. A collision of horses, sex and hoop skirts, burning plantations and nasty hurricanes, this musical, time-bending, multi-media epic rockets between reconstructions, real and imagined, of citizens and nations.

The show also performs at The Public Theater January 9-18 as part of the Under the Radar Festival. Click here for more information.

RE:Pleasantly Surprised
I saw this show last night as part of the 20at20. When planning, I couldnt find the run-time, so I called the theater, who told me that the show was 60 minutes. This was an out and out LIE. When I arrived at the theater, the threadbare playbill informed me that the show was approximately 150 minutes "approximately" being the operative word; the show started at 7:30 and ended at 10:25. That being said, you need to know that its nearly three hours long before you go, but you should definitely go. I told myself that if the show was disappointing I would leave at intermission. But, to my pleasant surprise, I was not bored once. The performances were crackling and impressive and the show is worth its ticket price for its imaginative staging and theatricality alone. The plot structure is a bit confusing, but suffice to say that it mirrors Gone with The Wind against Katrina in a very thought provoking way.
