WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Anchor Women is a tone poem of a play which fuses music, performance, live video feed, and pre-recorded video art into a sweeping multimedia fantasy. The story of Anchor Women re-imagines the lives of celebrities, beginning with the financial crisis of a famous photographer as she is visited by the ghost of her dead lover, a writer. A media mogul and talk show host hires our photographer to photograph her for the cover of a re-invented magazine, one that will call the women of America to confront "their dark interiors." Concurrently, a stewardess for the mogul's international airline, works her very last shift before becoming a full time wife and mother. And meanwhile, a fame-crazed news anchor travels for the first time to report in Baghdad where she experiences an unexpected sexual awakening. Anchor Women is a lyrical and idiosyncratic deification of the females at the forefront of the American liberal media.
