WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
America is dead and they won't believe it. Will America rise again or is it a "Lost Cause"? Has Maria given birth to the Son of God or is God dead? Is violence the answer? Set against the backdrop of an apocalyptic South, Maria seduces Joseph into a bizarre romance poisoned by illusions of freedom, peace, and God. An American Gospel is presented as part of the 10th Annual New York International Fringe Festival.
