WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Richard Dresser's comedy, Alone at the Beach, directed by Robert Francis Perillo, is the inaugural presentation of Urban Island Theatre Group. Set in the mid-1980s, George, a lonely freelance editor, invites five people to take time shares in his Hamptons beach house (where he lives full time) for summer weekends. His idea is to create a sort of utopian community, a house of good will where visitors will bond as a family. Needless to say, it doesn't quite work that way. Something of a hermit, and not one for planning (that's how his parents died), George accepts the first five folks who answer his ad.Additional performances on Sunday, October 20 and Saturday, October 26 at 2:30 pm.Wednesday, October 23 is a benefit for the Autism Coalition and Thursday, October 24 is a benefit for the Lymphoma Foundation. Tickets on these nights are $40.00 and $35.00 respectively.
