After the Flood tells the story of Mike and Carol Nevins. Their experience of Katrina exposes cracks not only in their marriage but also in the relationships between Carol, her mother, Loretta and her 18-year-old daughter, Jada. Adding to the sense of strain, is the appearance of Jada's long absent father, Steven. After the Flood takes a compelling look at people not just salvaging former lives but also long neglected relationships.

In Pieces of Home, Nathan and Emily have invited all their old friends to celebrate the Christmas holiday at their new home. Donna still struggles with the death of her husband, Tara deals with her recent breakup, and Renee wishes for something more as her husband spends the holiday overseas. Gathering together after seven years, these friends reminisce about the past and reveal their true aspirations for the future.
