Around The Block presents A View from the Fire Escape: Short Plays On The Lower East Side. The program features works by Allen Davis III, Carlos Jerome, David Nieves, David Reyes, and Jody Strimling. What good are America's boasts of riches, as long as there exists a Lower East Side? Maxim Gorky said that at the beginning of the 20th century. What we can say, at the beginning of the 21st century, is that the Lower East Side is itself one of America's riches.
