WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The New Group (naked), a new production division of The New Group, presents its debut presentation, A Likely Story, written and performed by David Cale and directed by Tamara Jenkins. The show looks at unlikely loves, new crushes and strange shifts turning settled lives in new directions. All hell breaks loose as a married woman considers making Viagra brownies to seduce her neighbor, a wife's poodle obsession gets out of hand, and two straight actors who loathe each other are cast as gay lovers in a TV movie. The New Group (naked) sees financial restriction as creative opportunity. This new lower-budget division will present two new plays each season that, while small in scope, will be big in emotion. Away from commercial pressures and soaring production costs, both experienced and emerging artists will have the freedom to realize their daring work for a daring audience.
